NiN’s Josh Freese in YOUR band !?

p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- In its first week, Nine Inch Nails’ Ghosts I-IV, released online, earned the band a not-so-spectral $1,619,420.

That was a little under a year ago and, “Yes, this included sales of the sell-out $300 limited (2,500) edition ‘ultra deluxe’ package, numbered and signed by Trent Reznor,” said p2pnet.

Now, in a chip off the NiN block, ex-drummer Josh Freese is releasing Since 1972 – online of course – and he, too, is padding it with special offers.

Lots of them.

Digital downloads are available starting March 24 exclusively from Freese’s site for $7 with a $15 CD/DVD combo slated to go on the shelves on April 14, says SoundCheck.

The offers?

“For $250, in addition to the combo, a T-shirt and a signed drum head and drumsticks, 25 different buyers will get to have lunch with Freese,” says the story. It doesn’t say who’d be picking up the bill, but …

  1. Robert Says:

I’m going to guess most of those items $50 and above are jokes, like he’ll really call you.

But it was a good laugh.

  2. SteelWolf Says:

Yeah, this sounds like a joke to me. And where’s the free version?

  3. Jakykong Says:

If someone is so obsessed as to pay $1000 or more for any of these, I don’t really care if it *is* a joke, they need help ;)

  4. Jon Says:

Wonder if anyone who’s rich and stupid will take him up on the last offer? Because there are lots of people in the US and elsewhere who’d see that kind of money as pocket change.

Remember that Bahraini sheikh who sued strange American pop person Michael Jackson for US$7 million? He’d apparently paid Mikey that much as an advance on a book and “joint recording project with the sheikh,” an amateur songwriter.
