Probation only for Canadian camcorder
p2pnet news view | MPAA News:- Hollywood’s Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Association is angry over a sentence imposed on an alleged camcording file sharer.
Montrealer Louis René Haché, 23, is said to have recorded Dan in Real Life at a Guzzo theatre, said p2pnet.
He was subsequently charged under the Criminal Code, facing one count of recording in a movie theatre, and one of recording in a movie theatre for commercial distribution.
But the CMPDA isn’t upset over the injustice of it all. Rather, it was counting on him getting jail time.
Instead, justice Lacerte Lamontagne sentenced him to 24 months’ probation and 120 hours of community service, says the MPAA clone, adding:
“Under terms of the probation Hache is prohibited from entering a movie theatre, associating with anyone involved in movie piracy or owning any recording device. He is also required to forfeit the equipment used in the commission of the offence.”
The pic on the right shows Guzzo boss Vincent Guzzo (right, without the camcorder).
Back in June, 2007, Julie Berthiaume and her two young daughters went to see a movie at the Marche Central Guzzo when she was asked to undergo a bag search.
She didn’t like the idea but said okay, according to the National Post, which stated »»»
Berthiaume says the theatre worker rummaged through her bag with both hands in a very rough manner.
She says she didn’t have a camera and wasn’t going to pirate the movie.
Berthiaume is suing Guzzo for $60,000, claiming physical and moral suffering and a loss of enjoyment of life.
Guzzo … defends the search as a measure to fight movie pirates.
Stay tuned.

I would pay good money to see some of these executive tools put in a room with the families of “criminals” and seeing what goes down.
It could be a whole new revenue stream for the cartels. Maybe they should think about it.

Who care! it is not going to make me go to a movie theater or buy a movie because I am boycoting until the 7 member of the movie and music cartel are dead.
Boycott the RIAA/MPAA parasites!
