Blogging now ‘unsafe’ in India
p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- Is India joining the growing list of countries panicking over the prospect of their citizens being able to communicate freely with each other?
There, “Bloggers may no longer express their uninhibited views on everything under the sun, for the Supreme Court said they may face libel and even prosecution for the blog content,” says the Times of India.
This “chilling warning emerged as a Bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam refused to protect a 19-year-old Kerala boy, who had started a community on Orkut against Shiv Sena [a far-right political party], from protection against summons received from a Maharashtra court on a criminal case filed against him,” says the story.
A computer science student, Ajith D, “pleaded that the comments made on the blog were mere exercise of their fundamental right to freedom of expression and speech and could not be treated as an offence by police,” it says, adding:
“Unimpressed, the Bench said, ‘We cannot quash criminal proceedings. You are a computer student and you know how many people access internet portals. Hence, if someone files a criminal action on the basis of the content, then you will have to face the case. You have to go before the court and explain your conduct’.”

Do they know what freedom od speach mean in India? I don’t think so!
So I recomand that every one use an open proxy or better torr so they can stay anonymous.

Or there is another way to express your opinion anonymously: guns.
This is for the extremists.
Their choice.

This looks very similar to the laws that being proposed in the UK. Everyone is to be accountable. Unless you happen to work for “the man”. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/feb/24/jack-straw-cabinet-minutes-veto-timeline
