Torrent30 Search: collaborators wanted
p2pnet news view Open Source | P2P:- Would you like to one of the team aiming to make the best web front-end for torrents ?
It’s a new torrent search interface and the folks putting it together tell p2pnet they’re looking for collaborators.
Torrent30 is open source so anyone can get into it and, “This is one of the first versions, so there is much room for improvement!” – say the developers, going on
At this time, Torrent30 scans Isohunt.com and Mininova.org although many additional site filters are in the works. Results are initially ranked by the most active torrent seeders and made sortable thereafter for additional relevancy.
The front-end is built using components from the Yahoo! User Interface Library (YUI), whilst the backend multi-threads CURL requests from PHP5.

Then you know what to do.

this project was created just over a week ago and theirs only 1 developer listed and by the looks of the sourceforge page this project is in its infancy. The domain was created a week ago and after a quick browse through the code this is a simple search engine using the yahoo API it crawls miniova and isohunt for search results. no different than vuze search . I dont see this as a good thing, only a revenue eater sorry I would help but why index stuff from sites that already index it in order to gain traffic for advertising just to cover their OWN costs.

I think the vision is great, bringing numerous torrent results into a standardized interface. but we’re going to need private trackers incorporated to make it more useful

It will be great when it an app to get one more step away from the crippling mmpa. if im on my own computer, I can use any open source app I choose. And the last I checked, searching the internet insn’t illegal. We avaoid add that are on those toorretn sites as well and get no adds inreturn since it’s open source. This could be a new branch for p2p to anchor ourselfs into the future. Heck, we’ll just make bitorrent the blacktorrent market. Im in if theres even the slightest chance it will screw big coporat and release governmnents grasp on us file sharers
