Brian Eno vs Alan McGee Twitter row

p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- @alanjmcgee Fuck off, wanker

Brian Eno (right) — one of the greats (IOHO, of course ;) ) .

And at 11:06 Pacific, the @alanjmcgee suggestion was still the top of Eno’s Twitter page.

That’s  because he’s, “become embroiled in a war of words with one time record label boss Alan McGee via the social networking site Twitter,” says ClashMusic.

“The argument began after McGee, who ran Creation Records, suggested that all Eno’s productions were good for was making people fall asleep,” says the story, going on »»»

The former Oasis manager asked Eno “Was it your idea to dress up Coldplay as the Beatles?.

Eno replied this morning with a curt message stating “Fuck off, wanker”. The ever erudite McGee then wrote “Morning Brian, wondered when you would wake up. When are you going to make a decent record again …”

McGee then posted a number of comment including “I would have stuck to the art installations more chance of having a decent conversation with a bulb than Coldplay or Dido/bland.”

But, “Eno seems to be ignoring McGee’s constant baiting,” adds ClashMusic.

How the mighty have fallen.

This sort of behaviour should prove interesting when the government makes it easier to litigate that which is posted online. Mind you, neither party has a secret identity. Pretty ugly to see.

I think I’ll sit in Eno’s corner however. For a start, I’ve heard of him. Until I read this post, I’d never heard of this other blowhard. Sounds like the sort of delightful egotist that I’m glad to never give any funds to however.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

The best part is that the real Eno doesn’t even have a Twitter account. McGee is attacking a fake! XD

I think the real Brian eno is inteligent enough, to come up with a more eloquent answer than that.
