UK YouTube video ban could spread
p2pnet news view TV | Advertising:- YouTube, owned by giant US internet advertising company, Google, says it has no intention of changing its mind about blocking music videos to UK users, despite a plea from the Performing Rights Society to change its mind.
It is, as usual, all about money. Phk the users who keep it rolling in, in other words.
GooTube is, ” removing all premium music videos to UK users after failing to reach a new licensing agreement with the PRS,” says the BBC. “Patrick Walker, YouTube’s director of video partnerships said it remained committed to agreeing terms.”
And the ban could spread to MySpace UK and other music sites, The Guardian has industry sources” saying. “MySpace UK and other sites are struggling to renegotiate their own licences with PRS, which pays royalties to artists,” it says.

[I’m afraid I’m feeling too cruddy to do much today so I’m simply going to post headings with notes and links and ask anyone who’s interested to perhaps post more data under individual items. Cheers! And thanks - Jon.]

The PRS is learning it’s true place… the hard way. Oh, there will be tears before bedtime!

Performing Rights Society, ha I have no sympathy for them, greed has got them diddly squat! ….and now wait for the proliferation of illegal sites where videos can be watched without the PRS getting a cent. You either make them available for a “reasonable” charge or encourage piracy, the choice is up to you PRS.

This is what Google should have done to Associated Press and the Belgian news when they sued Google – remove all their pages from the search index.
After all, Google is NOT legally required to index any page or display any search result.

Serves the money grabbing s%^ts right. As far as I’m concerned there just a bunch of shake down merchants using unjust and arcane laws to line their own pockets and give squat about true artists.

Well, if only the people at large would be so consequent as google is here:
Evil4 is suing its best customers
(remember Mrs. Thomas has been reportedly even a member in one of the Evil4 CD clubs and bought their plastic disks regularly on schedule)
then should customers stop buing their product at all at large.
When the money would no longer come in, Evil4 would learn that you don’t piss of those that you NEED to stay in business.
Unfortunately there are still too many people that have not heard about the outrageous and disgusting behavior of SonyBMG, Warner, Universal and EMI.
Or those customers that are still buying their plastic disks or their digital files are simply too lazy and don’t care. which is even more sad.
