Download.eject still a problem
p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft still hasn’t found a way to stop ‘download.ject’ from spreading, but it’s providing a way to clean computers that have already been infected.
On her Microsoft Watch, Mary Jo Foley says the virus is, "plaguing Internet Explorer users across the Web. Customers are risk are those running Microsoft’s Internet Information Services 5.0 and Internet Explorer in combination".
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer here quotes Microsoft security program manager Stephen Toulouse as saying although a fix is on the way, he doesn’t know when it’ll be ready.
"Microsoft previously released a security update that changed settings in its Windows operating system to thwart a hackers’ ability to deliver the malicious code," says the story. "But that update did not entirely fix the flaw that makes the spread possible.
"On Tuesday, Microsoft also released more tools that change Windows settings to prevent the attack from getting to desktops. Toulouse said the company was responding to security experts who warned that the virus might mutate or seek other routes of attack."
America’s Department of Homeland Security recently suggested that problems with broken Windows were simple to resolve.

So how do I search on this site for other articles about Download.ject? All the searches I’ve tried give me every article with the word “download” in them, which is quite a few. Quote marks (single and double) didn’t help.

You can’t find it because this is the first item to mention download.eject specifically.
But we’ll soon be launching a new site with a new look and separate sections, instead of everything on the front page.
It’ll include an improved search facility.
Cheers!
