Susan Crawford Obama tech adviser?
p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- There’s hope yet.
“The new Obama administration is shaping up to be a disaster for Copyfighters everywhere,” said Alan Wexelblat on Corante recently.
“In particular the new Department of Justice is stacked with lawyers who’ve been on the wrong side of copyright and intellectual property lawsuits for the last eight years.”
Now word has leaked that Susan Crawford has been appointed a White House tech policy expert.
She wouldn’t confirm or deny the rumour to p2pnet, first reported in Tech Daily Dose, which states »»»
She will likely hold the title of special assistant to the president for science, technology, and innovation policy, they said.
Crawford, who was most recently a visiting professor at the University of Michigan and at Yale Law School, was tapped by Obama’s transition team in November to co-chair its FCC review process with University of Pennsylvania professor Kevin Werbach.
Her official administration appointment has not been formally announced, says the story.
Crawford, the woman behind One Web Day, is a well-known blogger.
And she already has inside experience in the Obama administration.
Together with Kevin Werbach, assistant professor of legal studies and business ethics at the University of Pennsylvania`s Wharton School, she led the Obama FCC transition team with the responsibility of advising the incoming administration on policy, budget and personnel matters.
Good news, for a change.
Stay tuned.
