AT&T joins RIAA ’sue ‘em all’ campaign

p2pnet news view | RIAA News:- Giant US ISP AT&T has confirmed it’s now in bed with Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music’s RIAA.
“At a digital music conference in Nashville, Jim Cicconi, a senior executive for AT&T told the audience that the ISP has begun issuing takedown notices to people accused of pirating music by the Recording Industry Association of America, according to one music industry insider who was present,” says CNET News.
The Big 4 extortion unit claims it’s abandoned its sue ‘em all marketing scheme and instead now has ISPs functioning as corporate copyright enforcers against their own customers.
However, the campaign has continued virtually unabated, despite ongoing mainstream media reports to the contrary.
In December, using the Wall Street Journal as its disinformation launch-pad, the RIAA said it had the major US ISPs on side, but later had to climb down, admitting it was unable to name the major providers allegedly taking part in the US version of the three-strikes-and-you’re-out scheme the Big 4 labels are trying to foist on governments around the world.
Elsewhere, in the face of angry protests, New Zealand has been forced to drop its own plans to use ISPs as Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music enforcers, said p2pnet on Monday.
Representatives of the RIAA and AT&T could not be reached late Tuesday evening for comment, says CNET.

RIAA + NSA + AT&T = ATARI SATAN
I didn’t know that was his full name!
BTW, “Atari” is a Go term indicating a piece or group of pieces has only one liberty left and is about to lose it. Make of that what you will.
