Apple Computer record profits
p2pnet.net News:- Apple’s financial results for its fiscal 2004 third quarter (ending June 26) a net profit of $61 million.
That’s down to terrific product, right?
No.
That’s down to online music and terrific marketing and PR.
Music-based revenues grew 162% and the company says it shipped 860,000 iPods during the quarter, a 183% increase over the year-ago quarter. Revenue was $2.014 billion, up 30% from the year-ago quarter.
Apple shipped 876 thousand Macs, representing a 14% increase in CPU units, it says.
“It was an outstanding quarter – our highest third quarter revenue in eight years,” observed Apple ceo Steve Jobs.
Cfo Peter Oppenheimer said, “Looking ahead to the fourth quarter of fiscal 2004, we expect revenue of about $2.1 billion and earnings per diluted share of $.16 to $.17, including $.01 per diluted share in restructuring charges.”

Looks like Apple needs to give up making computers and concentrate soley on iPod$ and iTune$.
