419 scammer threatens p2pnet
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- Looks like I’m going to have to close p2pnet down.
:sigh:
Yesterday in a p2pnet post on an email exchange I’d been having with 419 scammer ‘Caroline Jabah,’ supposedly living in a refugee camp, I quoted what I thought would be my final communication from the alleged 24-year-old daughter of “Engr.Jabna Gabi Dickson, [who] was the Chairman, RUGY & GAB Oil and Gas Company a private servicing firm in Darfur”.
“Dear Jon,” it said, “Thanks for your mail. Meanwhile, how are you doing today? Nice, I know. I may need about 280 or 300 dollars to start. I will be happy if you do it for me. I will reward you abundantly if help me.”
That would have been the start of something big – for the guys behind ‘Caroline’ – and I would have ended up in the hole for thousands of dollars, I said, noting, “Millions of these scum messages go out every month, and presumably, enough people are sucked in to make it worthwhile.”
I also said, “Please read the story here and get back to me. Thanks, Jon’.”
And ‘Caroline’ did exactly that, threatening to do her best to shut p2pnet down unless I pull the story and pictures published with it.
In a Reader’s Write she says »»»
It is about the Mr Jon Newton, who steals information of people and claim he is researching and studying his parents. I want to let you understand that his statements are false and would like him to bring a case forward and mark the identification file. Your story about Caroline is no scam. If you have been scammed try to find out where and how you were scammed.
“Researching and studying his parents.” Caroline probably inadvertently included a clip from another scum mail.
Anyhow, she adds »»»
Caroline is an innocent person and shall do every thing possible to close this website if you refuse to remove the story of Caroline and her picture from your false assertions. I am Caroline
As she herself says, the, “story about Caroline is no scam,” so, over to you, Caroline.
Cheers!
Jon Newton – p2pnet

@ Jazz
Maybe, but at least I’m not promising anything or asking for money. X-p
Cheers!
March 27th, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Caroline, What made you Email Jon asking him for money in the first place?
Also, which refugee camp are you in that allows you to go after website owners yet only feeds you once a day? I too would like to join that refugee camp where there is all sorts of legal services and web access but no food. I’ll pack a lunch.
Since you have 7.3 million US dollars in a Bank in your name and have the document that proves this. Can you please use your refugee camp scanner and send a copy of it to Jon for us to look at?
Thanks.
:p

Funny how in the second e-mail she is talking about hear parents AND says OUR son died.
March 27th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Oh and another funny thing is in one e-mail her father was the chairman of “RUGY & GAB Oil and Gas Company a private servicing firm in Darfur” and in the second e-mail he is “GEO of Gruv & Gab Oil and Gas Servicing Company an oil extracting firm in Darfur”. First a chairman at Ruby & Gab and then a “GEO” (whatever that might be) at Gruv & Gab.

Don’t give in to the pressuring demands of Nigerian 419 scammers to remove content
March 27th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
Hello Carolina,
My name is Rodrigo and I’D LIKE TO SEX YOU UP! Unfortunately, I have been detained in Nicaragua. Yes, my wife is not allowing me to leave the premises due to my indiscretions with her sister, Consuela. If you would be so kind to send me $5,000.00 USD, I would be able to make preparations to escape this country and visit you.
I await your reply.
Your good friend,
Rodrigo EsteBAM! AKA Drake

Wind these scumbags up at http://www.419eater.com
March 28th, 2009 at 3:40 am
There is one way to deal with these scumbags, and that way is to communicate with them and let them know that you have reported all the contact information they give. The purpose of doing this is to have these points of contact cut off. Once a person sends out a large number of spams and the contact methodes are disabled. The spam run that advertises these points of contact are rendered moot and are therefore useless. The scammer is in business to make money. If he or she spends $40 to send out millions of spams containing a disabled email address or a disconnected phone number, then that scammer has lost his or her $40 in addition to the cost of securing another phone number, etc. I used to get these scam spams all the time untill I started replying to the scammer and then complaining to the services that provide the points of contact. I now receive very few 419 scam spams.

Alas, poor Caroline. She’s butthurt because she thought she had you, and you lured her with the false promise of the $300 that she was attempting to scam from you in the first place. She’s a business woman, and you’ve wasted her valuable time!
Do you realize how many people she could have scammed without wasting time on e-mailing you? I’ll tell you! Two, maybe even three!
March 28th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
I so love it when the Lads get angry. Of course any threats they may
make will never come to pass.
About the only way you would be in any danger would be if you were to
actually go to Nigeria to try and hunt one of them down.
I still would like to see 419eater go after “Caroline” (In quotes because
more likely than not, ’she’ is a man.)
March 29th, 2009 at 1:54 am
Jon, ‘Caroline’ is indeed cheating you! 20%? Bah! I was once offered a FULL 50% CUT (from no less than a treasury official needing someone to help launder embezzled funds.) You should demand at least a 50-50 split!
The internet might have unleashed a lot of freelance scammers, but in the pre-internet days these scams were obviously run by organized crime gangs, apparently using partners living in America to harvest names and addresses of potential marks. Having to pay for overseas postage, they were much more selective back then, preferring to target professionals, such as those listed on state licensing boards. (Yes, they obviously knew their way around ‘the system’ quite well.) The stationery used was high quality, and quite possibly genuine Nigerian government stationery.

i say down with all of you and your non support of nigeria, especially since i am now the acting prince of nigeria and awaiting my millions and millions of dollars from my royal trust fund, once i return to my home land with tickets bought from the trust, i will file lawsuits against you all and bring p2pnet to its knees! you hear that jon! your lack of support for my country and its people will not go untolerated!
btw remix is almost done

If you haven’t been there, you need to go check out 419eater.com. “Caroline” is a Nigerian male, and possibly a dangerous one. A public person such as yourself, John, should not be toying with these people. Leave that to the anonymous folks who know how to protect their identities.
April 2nd, 2009 at 11:24 am
Hi Bob:
Do you have a specific url?
Cheers! And thanks ,…
April 2nd, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Jon, check out the forums at 419eater.com I suppose. That’s probably the best way. I think there are probably other articles there, but it’s been a while since I’ve been there. There may be no danger, but these people are usually criminals in an organization, and you don’t want them knowing who you are if you piss them off. Scambaiting is only worth doing if it’s done anonymously, just in case. Cheers and be safe!
