Movie contest reminder
p2pnet.net News:- This is to remind you that the p2pnet.net /Downhill Battle movie contest has been extended until August 20 which, we hope, will give you-all space to research, edit, tear apart, re-build, throw your system out the window – you know how it goes ; )
p2pnet and Downhill Battle launched the competition because we want to see the Big Five record labels starring in their own shows. Hence our an online film contest with the simple aim of giving the public a clear and honest look at the music industry as it really is.
If a picture’s worth a thousand words, what’s a moving picture worth?
If you’re an amateur or pro movie-maker and you want to help continue the Decline and Fall of the Big Music Empire, now’s your chance.
Go here for ideas, or have a look at our first entry from Rick Fulkerson, the creator of the Music Industry MAFIA, among other shorts. His latest RIAA Porn makes the point in unforgettable terms that pornography and the entertainment industry go together hand-in-hand.
Judges
Joining James Saldana of Sleaze Bowl fame as a judge will be Canada’s Richard Bond, until recently a Nelvana film editor and maker of the acclaimed documentary/travelogue The Road to Castagno.
Categories
Movies for Music is open until August 20 2004 and we’re accepting videos in two categories:
1. The RIAA in 30 Seconds: 30-second TV ad-style videos that get right to the point.
2. Everything Else: Any other kind of video or animation as long as it focuses on an aspect of the music industry. We recommend keeping videos under five minutes.
