Well, if I were someone out to destroy everyone’s computer, I wouldn’t send it out on the day I either told everyone or everyone found out. I’d send something else out, then, a few days later, send out the real attack, after everyone’s gaurd is down.

1) Well, either we’ve been spared something that might have had some impact, or we’ve been preparing for something that was meant to be an “April Fool”.

2) The Y2K “bug” wasn’t a virus, and the threat wasn’t the same.
It was just thought by some that the inability of various operating system clocks to handle turn of the century was going to result in some meltdowns. Since most operating systems got their patches before the required date, it will never be known how much of that hype would’ve been justified. Almost makes me wish they didn’t patch them, just see…
