They are used locally, if the user wants to record statistics on files they are sharing with BearShare. Their use is purely local, and for the end-user's purposes only. They are not adware or spyware. Its the same as if Spysweeper detect that Microsoft had installed a file called Word.exe, and then claimed that it was spyware. Give me a break.
