Roughly speaking, a database is a repository of data stored, generally, in tables. Other elements of a database management system (DBMS) such as queries, user security systems, or data entry forms, may also be considered part of a database. There are many computer formats in which databases are stored, and many types of DBMS software. Just to get a little picky about details.</description>
