Sidekick-HipTop: by Xmas?
p2pnet.net News Opinion:- Danger Inc’s HipTop e-mail reader/Net access/phone was to have been on sale for $199, by now.
Marketed as SideKick by T-Mobile in the US, the mobile has automatic ‘over the air’ synchronization between the Web interface and the device so data entered into either instantly appears in both, without a cradle or cables, says Danger
However, Sharp will produce a “yet-to-be unveiled Danger device in time for the Christmas shopping season,” says a Reuters story here, quoting ceo Hank Nothhaft as saying that with Sharp handling the hardware end, his company will be free to develop wireless software.
“Sharp’s role should also eliminate the threat of production shortages that have plagued Danger, which has run out of inventory several times since it introduced its first products nearly two years ago,” adds Reuters.
