p2pnet’s $43,850,000

p2pnet.net News:- Last week we noted that p2pnet’s new Movie Contest email account seems to have caught the eye of only two kinds of people:

1 – Film makers with genuine questions about the contest
2 – 419 fraud operators

What’s really interesting is that there seems to be a central control for these criminals who, for some known-only-to-them reason, have ‘identified’ our video contest email addie as a target.

Since our post we’ve had a further eight emails. We killed three, which arrived the next day, but have now started saving them with eight in the collection – including those mentiined in the first post – so far.

One’s a repeat and two are ‘new’ approaches:

An email from a yahoo.com address says we’ve won 1.000.000.00 Euro. (One Million Euro)
CONGRATULATIONS!!! [heh. If only] But, "Due to mix up of some numbers and names, we ask that you keep your winning information confidential until your claims has been processed and your money remitted to you. This is part of our security protocol to avoid double claiming and unwarranted abuse of this program by some participants."

The second is a netscape.net email which states: "CONGRATULATION! Your fund is now deposited with a Security Company EURO SECURITY AND INSURANCE .S.A. Due to the mixed up of some numbers and names, we ask that you keep this award a top secret from the public notice until your claim as been processed and your prize money remitted to your account as this is a part of our Security protocol to avoid double claiming award or unwarranted taking advantage of this program by participants."

Both have phone numbers.

And to make the point again: the contest email addie isn’t drawing spam from anywhere else.

If you’re interested in this and you’d like the emails with full header info intact, contact us at news[at]p2pnet[dot]net and we’ll fire them across.
