BayTSP bid to cash in on sports streamers

p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- Mark Ishikawa is well pleased with himself.

He’s found a new way for his BayTSP to cash in on the online communities.

And he’s going to use peoples’ love of sports to do it.

A global sports franchise and two pay-per-view event promoters have signed with BayTSP to “protect and monetize broadcasts,” says a press statement.

It isn’t news that online sports are a big deal.

“Sites based largely in Communist China and the Far East use p2p streaming to in effect relay live soccer matches to people in Europe,” said p2pnet four years ago, going on:

“But, BigChampagne’s Eric Garland said Americans could potentially use the technology to stream feeds from US channels, ‘which could mean U.S. programming beamed free around the world’.”

At the time, the Premier League wanted group action on the parts of sports rights holders to stamp out the activity, and has held talks with the ruling bodies in tennis, Formula One, cricket and rugby in a bid to form an anti-piracy alliance, said vnunet, stating:

“The problems are similar to those being experienced by the music industry with illegal downloads. In the Premier League’s case, programming from live events is being taken from satellite feeds and streamed to anyone on the internet.”

Today a, ” growing number of unauthorized steams are in high definition, offering the same quality as the official streams,” says Ishikawa.

How will BayTSP stop this?

He says his company’s Content Authentication Platform (CAP) processes live feeds in real time, “”generating digital fingerprints that the system uses to monitor video hosting sites, cyber-lockers and video streaming sites for unauthorized video clips or live streams”.

Then, when “unauthorized clips or streams” are found, CAP can, “automatically send takedown notices to the service provider and have the content removed or shut down”.

How much effect will BayTSP have on the rampant Chinese streaming operations.

Not a lot.

  1. Just my two cents Says:

Now I might be opening myself up for tons of rebuttal by **AA shrills by saying this, but can someone PLEASE tell me how the rebroadcasting a sports events in areas that the sport was not originally broadcasted, takes money away from the broadcasters?

It is one thing to charge for the ability to watch a sport event “live”, but a recorded event is just that, recorded. I mean the verdict is already out, and highlights have often already hit the news.

    Just my two cents
