Twitter addiction ‘like smoking crack’

So says model-turned-TV-hostess Tyra Banks.
“Meet guests who can’t get enough of the fastest growing social networking site on the web, and hear how it’s changing lives — and sometimes upsetting them,” she says on her site. “Plus, find out what the proper FB etiquette is when it comes to writing on friends’ ‘walls’ and updating your relationship status.”
Then, “Meet a couple who says their relationship is in danger because of an obsession with Twitter.”
The guy is completely addicted to Twitter, says Allen Stern on CN.
Tony works in tech and, “it’s important for him to stay connected to people in the tech and startup world,” says the story, going on, “Ashley notes that when they go out for dinner and she is looking all cute, he instead spends his time twittering about the food and that he is full.”
Both noted, however, “that Tony does not Twitter while they are in bed.”
Apparently, Stern goes on, “Tony was close to losing his job twice because of his addiction. Frankly Tony’s addiction is the same as a person sitting on the phone all day (i.e non productive). But it’s all ok because Tony is building a company (I guess off-hours) that’s built on top of Twitter!”
Tyra, “then compares Tony’s need to Twitter with a narc’s need to smoke crack,” says CN, adding, “Tony concludes by explaining how emotional he got when his mother Twittered him that she wished she was with Tony and Ashley when they went for a large Pinkberry.”
