French 3 strikes law strikes out!
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- “I just went and checked and they did reject it by a 21 – 15 vote,” says Logan in a p2pnet Reader’s Write to our latest post on the French three-strikes farce.
“I know the French Pres ain`t gonna be too happy with the Parliament but, hey, the senators and politicians listened to the people who didn`t want this type of crap being introduced,” Logan says, going on »»»
The IFPI and the RIAA both have tried and lost in the vast majority of cases to get people to pass this wing nut idea and luckily saner heads have prevailed.
Maybe now the corporate morons will get the idea that they do not run the world as much as they would like.
If this goes back before Parliament again as it is supposed to let`s hope that it is rejected again only this time overwhelmingly so the greedy corporate entities that are the RIAA, MPAA and IFPI have to cry in their beer.
“French legislators have rejected the ‘Hadopi’ bill which would terminate the internet connections of copyright infringers,” says The Register.
“The Sénat, or upper house, rejected the measure by 21-15 in a poorly attended debate, a week after the lower house passed the measure.
“The Government may yet revise the measure by watering down the proposed sanctions against file sharers, arguing that barely 10 per cent of Senators could be bothered to attend.”
As we said earlier, the entertainment cartel plan to use ISPs as copyright cops is, “for the most part coming apart at the seams with citizens making it clear they, not the movie studios and music labels, are in charge”.
That’ll wipe the smirk off RIAA boss Mitch Bainwol’s face.

âI know the French Pres ainât gonna be too happy with the Parliament but, hey, the senators and politicians listened to the people who didnât want this type of crap being introducedâ
They didn’t listen anything. What happened today was some kind of trick by politicians who were already against this law. The law will be re-examined and this time the president majority will be here to vote.
It’s a good thing sure, because it hit hard an already weak project but this is not at all a “people victory”.

“this is not at all a ‘people victory’.”
Sure it is. Every time something like this happens, another hole is is punched through the formerly impregnable cartel armour.
Sooner or later there’ll be so many holes it’ll simply fall apart.
Cheers!

Any time these retards fall face first into a pile of their own Bullshit, its a good thing.
The only credability they have left is with the uninfomed or their own peers.
Cant say anything for their peers, but I’m doing what i can to help the uninformed!

Its âCréation et Internetâ proposal, passed by Parliament today, would empower the film and music industry to monitor download activities of its citizens. “The law empowers music and film industry associations to hire companies to analyze the downloads of individual users to detect piracy, and to report violations to a new agency overseeing copyright protection.”
Now this is what we need in Canada, if the French wimps can do it why can’t we?
Time to purge the internet of pirate scum I say!
