RIAA mysteriously yanks case
p2pnet news view | RIAA News:- Strange goings on in RIAA-land, says Recording Industry vs The People’s Ray Beckerman.
Strange things and the RIAA in the same breath?
Surely not.
But apparently, that’s the way it is and, “What does it all mean?” – Ray asks.
What sparked his observation is: yet another ‘Pay Us Or Else’ case fired up by Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music’s RIAA has been mysteriously quenched.
Pleading for a voluntary dismissal, could RIAA lawyer Timothy Reynolds and RIAA lawyer Matt ‘The Dentist’ Oppenheim (the former officially employed by Holme Roberts & Owen and the latter by, who knows?) “and his gang have supplied the collection lawyer with ‘factual inaccuracies’?” Ray wonders, adding:
“They wouldn’t do something like that, would they? And for you non-lawyers out there wondering ‘is this normal?’ – the answer is No, it’s highly irregular.”

“Factual inaccuracies which plaintiff needs to sort out” Translated it looks like they feel there are enough errors to lose the case, so they want to dismiss the trial, broom their evidence of whatever they feel may lose them the case, and then come back again. I hope they don’t get away with that, either let the case continue, or drop it under the provision that they can’t bring it back at a later time.

Actually, the father took the fall for his son.
The RIAA, out of the ‘kindness’ of their hearts,
are allowing him to pay 50.00 per month for the next
8 years, and are forgoing charging him interest.
What kindness.
