Rio launches the Carbon 5GB
p2pnet.net News:- Digital Networks North America says its Rio 300 was the world’s first portable mp3 player and it’s now making a follow up bid with its new Rio Carbon 5GB.
DNNA’s Rio subsidiary is aiming the hard-drive player at both “the music lover with a few hundred CDs” or “someone starting out their digital audio collection who wants room to grow”.
At $249, Carbon will still be playing for up to 12 hours after Apple’s identically priced iPod has given up the battery ghost, claims Rio.
With a nod to Apple’s latest foray into the world of education, it also features a built-in voice memo recorder.
Carbon’s memory holds up to 80 hours of mp3 or 160 hours of WMA music (up to 1,250 mp3s or 2,500 WMA songs), promises the company.
The player due on the shelevs at the end of this month.
