University of Miami Playboy Top Party school

p2pnet news view | Off Topic:- What’s the University of Miami good for?

Partying!

It must be true because Playboy Magazine says it is!

The university used to be a Top Party Schools mainstay back in the 80’s but, “with a rise on academic lists came a fall on the party lists,” says Miami News, going on:

“UM didn’t even make Playboy’s list last year (the top spot went to University of Florida), but it appears the Hurricanes have regains their party prestige: Playboy’s ranked them the number one party school in America this year, thanks in part to some recalibrate standards.”

Playboy, “actually included a ‘brains’ criteria this time around too,” says the story.

“The mag also took campus life, sports, and the ‘bikini factor’ (a weird mix of weather and ratio of girls to guys).”

But, it adds, “The hardest partiers usually don’t make it back for their Sophomore year.”

So, the right balance must be at #9 and #10 then.

I think a lot of people get the wrong idea from this. I know many students who wanted to attend the University of Miami but their parents wouldn’t let them because of this partying reputation, and I’m nervous that such a ranking could hurt us even more. Let me tell you, there is SO MUCH to do here and it’s like living in paradise, but that doesn’t mean that students are more out of control than those at other schools. UMiami has become an institution recognized more for research and academics, and a lot of us here are continuing to try to push it in that direction. UMiami received the #1 spot because of the bikini and brains rankings- so basically, we’re considered the #1 party school because we’re smart and have nice weather. Parents, what’s wrong with that? We do know how to have fun though.
