I know many students who wanted to attend the University of Miami but their parents wouldn't let them because of this partying reputation, and I'm nervous that such a ranking could hurt us even more. Let me tell you, there is SO MUCH to do here and it's like living in paradise, but that doesn't mean that students are more out of control than those at other schools. UMiami has become an institution recognized more for research and academics, and a lot of us here are continuing to try to push it in that direction. UMiami received the #1 spot because of the bikini and brains rankings- so basically, we're considered the #1 party school because we're smart and have nice weather. Parents, what's wrong with that?
