iTunes ‘Shake the baby’ site returns

But it’s back.
The idio – sorry, staff – behind Apple’s iTunes store approved Sikalosoft’s Baby Shaker, a “fun” application in which users shake their iPhones until the onscreen baby suddenly goes silent with large red Xs blanking out its eyes.
As every comic-book reader knows, X over the eyes means DEAD.
Such was the anger over Apple hosting the iPhone “game,” mothers and fathers whose children had died, “or were permanently injured due to their babies being shaken,” staged a protest demonstration outside an Apple store in New York, says the BBC.
Apple has now apologised for the “deeply offensive” iPhone application, says the story.
And the Sikalosoft site is back online, no doubt rubbing its hands in glee over all the publicity.
“Yes, the Baby Shaker iPhone app was a bad idea,” it says, failing to identify the genius who thought the application up in the first place.
“You should never shake a baby!” – it says.
“Even on an Apple iPhone Baby Shaking application.”

In case you are unaware Baby Shaker was an Apple iPhone application that was greatly lacking in taste. It was approved by Apple for download upon the iPhone. However, it was later taken down because it was a baby shaking video game!
While GTA is a video game that pushes the limits, it is still yet to have a baby shaking mini game in it.
Very funny.
Now, right at the top of the page where no one can miss it, Sikalosoft is taking advantage of a Google Advertising Company ad, which is in turn exploiting the term ‘Brain Damage’ for profit.
“What is Shaken Baby Syndrome?” – adds the site. “Abusive head trauma/inflicted traumatic brain injury or AHT (also called shaken baby/shaken impact syndrome or SBS) is a form of inflicted head trauma. AHT can be caused by direct blows to the head, dropping or throwing a child, or shaking a child. Head trauma is the leading cause of death in child abuse cases in the United States.”
p2pnet doesn’t have a category for ‘Shameful and Disgusting’.
Maybe we should change that

It has the right to exist, and we have the right not to buy it.
Banning software, music, or anything else one deems offensive is
BS. It’s the buyers choice. no one has the right to choose for others.
( yes, it is disgusting, tasteless, and weird and I personally wouldn’t have
anything to do with it, but it’s not up to me, or anyone else to say others
can’t have it. )

Just like the hundreds of killing games on the market now.
Just like the movies which have dead babies.
Are people going to equate the apple baby-shaker to that war game they say caused a school shooting years back?
Maybe listen to metal will destroy peoples mids and make them violent.
Maybe playing the Queen album in reverse will cause to to smoke pot.

If someone is going to do something because they can’t differentiate real life from their fantasies, then there is a problem with a person that is pre-existing that would lead to an event anyhow.
Shake the baby maybe a cruel, disgusting lowlife type of stupid game, but should it be banned?
How about America’s Army game. That should be banned also? After all its “shaping” you kids minds.
I see nothing wrong with it other than very poor taste.

Being a lover of inappropriate humor, I think it’s brilliant. I won’t be downloading it, naturally, because I don’t have an iPhone (or a cell phone, period). But I still think all the offended can do exactly what all offended people do: They can get OFFENDED, then they can get OVER IT.
