Live Olympics online
p2pnet.net News:- With the Greek Olympics only days away, 12 broadcasters have bought the video rights.
But while many Europeans will be able to watch live online, American footage will be "highly restricted to protect lucrative broadcast contracts, which are sold by territory – $793 million paid by NBC alone," says an Associated Press story here, going on:
"Web sites must employ technology to block viewers from outside their home countries, so US Web surfers won’t benefit from the BBC’s live coverage. They’ll have to settle for highlights posted after NBC broadcasts, which are already largely tape-delayed.
"On top of that, US viewers must verify their identity using a credit card from Visa – an NBC advertiser – though they will not be charged."
Who said advertisers rule in the US?

It’s possible to get websites that restrict access to certain countries simply by using a proxy server located in the right country. There are many free proxy lists that will detail all this.

there are other lists such as http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list but I didn’t knwo how to actually link into the servers listed….if you are a windows user type in “proxy servers” into the “help” search and there should be a search result that says “specify a gateway or proxy” and follow from there… All you are doing is rerouting your internet settings to run your browser through your proxy server….. this was for those less talented computer users out there who have to learn things the hard way.
