Swedish Pirates: bound for EU parliament
p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- Speaking of pirates, “A poll carried out by a major Swedish newspaper predicts that the Pirate Party will grab around 5.1% of the votes in the upcoming European Union elections,” says enigmax in TorrentFreak.
“This means that the movement, which has gathered huge momentum due to the Pirate Bay `guilty` verdict, will get a seat in the EU Parliament,” he says.
The corporate movie and music industries thought they were home free having browbeaten the timid Swedish authorities into passing IPRED anti-piracy legislation.
But Swedish ISPs are refusing to co-operate, as p2pnet posted yesterday.
Now, the Swedish Pirate Party has already surpassed that of the Green Party, “with more than half of men under 30 reportedly considering voting for them in the 2009 European Parliament elections,” says TorrentFreak, going on a new poll conducted by Swedish newspaper DN.se also shows the party is the second largest party among younger voters in the age group 18-30.
Adds enigmax:
“When the Swedish Pirate Party was founded three years ago, the majority of the mainstream press viewed them with skepticism, with some simply laughing them away. Times have changed though. The Pirate Party is now a serious competitor for the established parties in Sweden, and on its way to conquer Europe.”

It will never happen.
The US cartels will have Sweden use the same E-voting systems used to put bush in power and remove the pirate party.
They should be on the look out for E-voting coming to a town near them…

How did they manage that with the E-voting?
