Google cuts off uTorrent

There’s Google, then there’s Pirate Google, and varations thereof.

The giant online advertising company uses an indexing application to keep it in business, so it’s not surprising to learn BitTorrent client uTorrent added a Google-powered torrent search function.

Happens all the time.

For example, p2pnet had Google search —- until the company falsely accused us of generating NonSense clicks.

Now, “For reasons unknown,” Google is blocking the use of its search technology on the site, says TorrentFreak.

“When entering a keyword into the search box on the website,” an error is returned,” it says.

uTorrent is lucky. When this happened to p2pnet,this popped up »»»

Forbidden – Your client does not have permission to get ********* from this server. Client IP address: xx.xx.xxx.xxx

The website you’ve just visited has tried to provide you with search results from Google. Unfortunately, the site violates our terms of service so your search could not be completed.

p2pnet hadn’t violated anything, but as with other US entities, such as the RIAA, Google can do whatever it likes and get away with it.

No need to stay tuned.
