321 Studios pays Hollywood

p2pnet.net News:- “Thank you for visiting 321 Studios. 321 Studios regrets to inform you that it has ceased business operations including, but not limited to, the sale, support and promotion of our products. Despite 321 Studios’ best efforts to remain in business, injunctions entered against 321 Studios by three US Federal courts earlier this year has resulted in 321 Studios no longer being able to continue operating the business.”

That’s what you see when you visit the 321 site here. It was forced out of business by the studios because of its software, DVD and CD back-up copying application.

Now 321 will pay a ‘substantial’ settlement to the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) and, just to rub a little salt into the wound, the money will go towards “raising awareness of illegal copying and copyright theft,” says a BBC story here.

And check this out – who’s in charge of the MPAA?

It only goes to show That the movie industry did their homework in convincing and bribing the united states congress into passing the dmca.

Robert moore of 321 studios was and still is a fool.

Where did he ever get the idea he could buck the almighty mpaa with all of their money and influence in the halls of the united congress?

For all of you retarded people out there this is called CORRUPTION.

It’s really laughable that the settlement money is to pay for public awareness about movie pirating.

It’s even funnier yet that the american buying public is taking this lying down.

    What a concept.

According to really laughable copyright and patent law in the united States (which is in really desperate need of reform but the spineless congress of the united states does not want to change),a customer who buys a cd or movie dvd or computer program does not own it outright but is merely issued a license for it’s use and he does not have the right to copy it.

    So much for fairuse.

Again, the buying public is really stupid.

They buy overpriced cds and dvds with worthless extras and they think they are getting a good deal.

They are getting stuck in a place where the sun does not shine and the american buying public is getting their faces stuck in the shit by the entertainment industry.

    THEY LOVE IT !!

Like the late great wc fields used to say, there is a sucker born every minute.

The really funny part of it is i get better results from dvd decrypter and dvd shrink , dvd fab and dvd clone either for free or for half the price of dvd x copy.

I have everything 321 studios ever made and in the end i got ripped off good by them is because the only way i could register and activate dvd x copy was on line or over the phone.

Now they are out of business.

I knew this was going to happen.

Once everybody who ever bought this program finds this out about this program would be madder than hell.

I would love personally to beat the shit out of robert moore.

As it stands today,i do what ever i want to do and there is NOTHING the movie industry can do about it.

I get better quality dvd decryption tools overseas.

All of this comes from websites like doom9.net and other websites overseas.

Robert moore was a ripoff artist.

    I don’t give a rat’s ass about this peckerhead.

Dvd x copy was just a collection of freeware programs that did not even have any documentation.

Maybe the mpaa has a point.

I really believe that the movie indusrtry would not be againest people copying their movies, but the movie industry should be compensated from any software company that makes dvd movie copying programs even if the software company had to pay the mpaa a royalty.

The solution is obviously to base your business in a country that doesn’t have DMCA-like laws. Like Canada.

Though that could change soon. I’m personally writing MPs and the appropriate ministers to express my views on these issues, and try to avoid another DMCA trainwreck. You can get their e-mails at http://www.parl.gc.ca, for those interested.
