Star Trek online, but reports record numbers!
p2pnet news view | P2P | Movies:- Dearie me. How will Hollywood explain this?
As with Wolverine, the first, but not final, destination, of Star Trek 2009 was online.
And that was well before it was officially released in the movie theatres.
Yet, as with Wolverine, it’s audience attendance numbers are going through the roof.
According to Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney’s MPAA (Motionless Picture Association of America), every time a feature flick is shared on the P2P networks (usually courtesy of a Hollywood insider), sales are lost and the studios are one step closer to going down the tubes!
Somehow, though, the Hollywood companies manage to struggle through and far from facing imminent disaster, are reporting a $14 billion surplus.
Now, “Star Trek has gone straight to number one in the US Box Office chart taking a massive $76 million on its opening weekend,” says MTV UK.
“The sexy new revamp has drawn almost universal acclaim,” says the Toronto Star.
“This weekend’s release has also inspired a lot of words about Star Trek’s cultural impact over its 40-year history. There have been pieces lauding its ‘cornball optimism,’ how it’s the first blockbuster for the Obama age, and even reasoned analyses about the U.S. president’s Vulcan-like tendencies.”
No need to stay tuned.

How can that be? Most do not recognize that life isn’t infinite and will waste their time watching hollywood movies, while there are many great movies not made by hollywood.
