Wanted: Android blogger

p2pnet news view | Advertising:- CNet is looking for an Android Blogger.

No Joke!

But not a blogger who’s an android. A blogger who’ll write about Android.

Or would they be one and the same thing?

Anyhow, “Are you a Google Android fan? Did you rush out and buy the T-Mobile G1 the moment it came out?” – asks senior editor for cell phone reviews Kent German.

He goes on, “And are you eagerly awaiting the next Android device? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we may have something for you.”

Is Google boss Eric Schmidt on the CNet Board as well as Apple’s?

“CNET is looking for a freelance blogger for a new Android-focused site,” says the post, going on

You’ll be responsible for updating the blog regularly with news, developments, analysis, tips, and troubleshooting related to the Google Android Mobile operating system.

Qualifications include experience with technology and gadget journalism, preferably in an online environment; demonstrated writing experience; an ability to meet deadlines and react quickly to breaking news; and access to and a solid understanding of the Android OS, supported devices, and the competitive environment, including the Apple iPhone.

This is a contract position. You will work with an editor in San Francisco, but can reside anywhere in the United States …

Android, you’ll recall, is the mobile operating system owned by giant advertising company Google which actually describes it as a “semi-open-source structure”.

“Semi-open source” reminds me of a term coined by Robin Williams,” says Just my two cents in a Reader’s Write.

“… sort of like Partial circumcision …”

Meanwhile, “Shares of media company CNET Networks Inc, currently battling dissident shareholders who want to expand its board, soared more than 7 percent on Friday, on speculation that Google Inc might be interested in acquiring a stake in it,” said Reuters in 2008.

Google interest in CNET was ‘highly unlikely’,” an analyst was quoted as saying.

“Google officials declined to comment and a CNET spokeswoman was not immediately available,” it added.
