RealNetworks defies MPAA
p2pnet news view Music:- “Would you like to work with high tech and media legends? Do you enjoy the rush of working in an agile, dynamic environment? Are you passionate about digital video and consumer electronic devices? Do you want to touch the daily lives of millions of consumers around the world?
“If you do, then the RealNetworks recruiting team wants to talk to you!”
So says a RealNetworks Craigslist ad, despite the fact the company is on the wrong end of a Hollywood lawsuit.
“The MPAA alleges that RealDVD violates copyright law,” says CNet News, going on:
“Hollywood says the $30 software and Facet, a DVD player that can copy and store about 70 films, are nothing more than pirating tools.
“On May 21, attorneys for Real and the MPAA will make their closing arguments for a hearing on whether the injunction on RealDVD sales should be lifted. By continuing to develop Facet amid a potentially technology-killing court fight, is Real being overconfident? After all, the public company has spent the majority of RealDVD’s $6 million development costs on litigation.”
But, “If the court keeps the injunction in place we will not bring Facet to market as it exists today,” the story has Real spokesman Bill Hankes saying.
“Nobody should infer too much from the job posting.”
RealNetworks, “lost $12.1 million in the first quarter, compared with a $2.4 million profit a year ago,” says the Seattle Times.
“In quarterly financial results results reported today, the digital entertainment company siad [sic] toit lost lost 10 cents a share, compared with a profit of 2 cents a share in the same quarter last year.”

Real network should threaten to release realdvd on Internet for free with the source code if they lose the case.
What’s about that? Once on Internet you can not remove it. I still have DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink and it is still working great.
When someone threaten us with copyright BS we always replicate with a treat to spread what they call the infringing content among hundred of web sites. This is our level one treat, the lowest. I am sure nobody want to experience our level 2 and our level 3 is deadly.
We don’t negotiate with terrorists and parasites.

Why go after RealDVD when other programs like DVDFab and AnyDVD are much worst as they strip all the copy protection!
RealDVD not only keeps the original CSS encryption it adds an extra layer of DRM
Leave Poor RealNetworks Alone!!!
