The Man Behind Barney! Shock-horror revelation!

p2pnet news view P2P:- Of all stories published on p2pnet, one stands out.

But not because of its artistic brilliance, not because it centres on Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music’s RIAA (although there is a link), not because it underscores an issue of striking social importance.

It’s because it’s about Barney, the Revolting Purple Dinosaur who’s been polluting children’s minds with sugary, nauseating drivel since 1992.

The story is It’s Bloody Barney: Oh, the Horror! which, together with its the accompanying picture (right), has been viewed 125,969 times as I post this.

“You should be ashmed!” – said ANGRYT! in a Reader’s Write.

“Children love barney and one might see this picture! Peoplke like you should not be allowed to be in the iunternet.”

Now in a shock-horror report, p2pnet is able to exclusively reveal the identity of one of the Men Behind Barney.

In 2006, RIAA spinster-in-chief Mitch Bainwol supplemented his meagre RIAA earnings of $1,472,944 by donning the Barney Suit, we’re unreliably informed.

He’s shown here during casting.

We also understand RIAA under-spinster Cary Sherman was Barney’s voice during this period.

For the curious,  “I’ll sue you, you sue me, Oh what fun the suits will be,” said the Barney post, going on »»»

That’s the latest refrain from Barney, the big, purple dinosaur adored by kids and loathed by their parents.

“Barney’s lawyers at the New York firm of Gibney, Anthony and Flaherty sent stiff warning letters last week to Web sites displaying less-than-flattering images of the plump saurian,” says CNET News.

” ‘Your Web site depicts a plush Barney toy in a violent manner or position,’ Matthew Carlin wrote Tuesday on behalf of Lyons Partnership, which owns the Barney trademark. ‘We are writing to request that you remove this violent content toward Barney on your Web site’.”

Heh

Say no more ; )

“Wonder if Mori Chack will pick up on the possibilities?” – we added.

  1. surfer Says:

    hey Gibney, Anthony and Flaherty…

    eat a bag of dicks…

    purple ones…

  2. Reader's Write Says:

I hate Barney. I am going to sue my five year old when she’s of legal age for making me watch all that stupid “drivel.” I think I should also name and hit on HiT Entertainment for producing garbage for kiddie’s minds and Lionsgate for distribution of offensive material aimed at kids.

By the way, Jon, your exclusive on the on “the identity of one of the Men Behind Barney….” is incorrect. I have it on good authority (my elderly neighbor – a life long Liberal) the identity of the man you named is not actually Bainwol. It was Stephen Harper that year.

  3. Devil's Advocate Says:

“…It was Stephen Harper that year.”

Yeah, and I think he played Promo the Robot in his younger years.
    : )
