Napster and Virgin Radio
p2pnet.net News:- Napster II hasn’t been able to convince punters that its service is worth paying for and consequently, has to rely on captive audiences and gimmicks to survive.
Its latest effort involves Britain’s Virgin Radio with whom Napster is launching an online music chart.
The show will start on September 1 and feature “Top 20 tracks taken each week from Napster’s catalogue of 750,000 songs, and will be based on permanent downloads, full-length streams and subscription downloads,” says Britain’s NME here, continuing:
“Napster’s announcement follows that of a chart put together by the Official Chart Company.”
The mangled moggie has also “signed a two year deal with ‘Coca-Cola’ and will collate data from many of the biggest legal music download sites in the UK including www.mycokemusic.com, Napster and iTunes,” says NME.
But if yet another totally useless chart featuring corporate music dumbloads doesn’t interest you, there is an alternative – p2pnet’s weekly Top Ten File Share chart.
TTFS gives you What’s Hot on the p2p file sharing networks.
