ASCAP just simply joined the side of the **AA because a) they were strong armed or b) they really are stupid and want to kill musical innovation by owning everything.

When we hit rock bottom, that&#039;s when you&#039;ll see things actually change for the better.  Until then, Congress/lobbyists/Commons will simply follow the **AA/ASCAP/SOCAN/et. al horses right off the cliff into the abyss.  Then real artists that care about art will step in and say &quot;we&#039;ve had enough&quot; and real consumers who love art will back them up.  Since the labels will be in the abyss along with their support greed groups, they won&#039;t be able to do anything but change or remain in the abyss forever (which would be nice).</description>
