But frankly, if you are to vote for someone else, there is no guarantee that they will not do the same thing. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Whoever is elected get a feeling they can do anything with impunity, because there is no “citizen control” mechanism.

By the way, if you feel there is no one who deserves your vote, it is better to spoil your ballot – spoiled ballots are at least included in the vote counts.

When are the Orwellian-minded going to stop pushing this kind of garbage at the Internet??!

The way everything’s going, I wouldn’t be surprised if privateers start launching independent wireless “infrastructures” to get around all the BS. Yes, it would be considered “illegal” in most parts, but the situation would seem to warrant this kind of “civil disobedience”, and such a thing might cause the ISPs to consider the potential losses and grow some balls.

(Just a possible “for instance…”.)
