Drowning out the House
p2pnet.net News:- Pier Ferdinando Casini, the speaker of the lower house of the Italian parliament, wants loudspeakers installed under all deputies’ benches, says Italy’s the L’Espresso, quoted in an Agence France-Presse report here.
And they’re to be set at high volume.
Why’s that?
“He hopes the loudspeakers will drown out mobile phone conversations among deputies and finally prove a successful way of preventing them chatting while colleagues are addressing the chamber,” it states.
“Other attempts over recent months have failed, but Casini believes that telephone conversations are disturbing the business of the assembly.”
