The most horrible case of piracy/plagiarism perpetrated in Canada (and the one ever perpetrated at any university) is this: "University of Toronto Fraud" at http://ca.geocities.com/uoftfraud/
This crime has been approved by the authorities in Canadian Govt. What the scientists are saying? Don't even ask - this is called OMERTA. What the press is saying, again, don't even ask - to publish a single word about this crime is prohibited.

Bell is also where the stink is. It's inevitable.

"In other words, the Conference Board relies on a survey of 1200 people conducted more than three years ago to extrapolate to a claim of 1.3 billion unauthorized downloads "

statistics pulled from thin air? What else is new.

plagiarizing a survey about "infringement" for the purpose of strangling the debate, makes this hilarious!

How low will they go? I have a feeling it's only begun. 3 cheers to Prof Geist for pointing out this obvious failure!

Out of curiousity, does said report take into consideration that alot of 'content' is not qvailable in Canada in digital format. Can't tell you how many times I've gone to watch a show on the internet only to have a message pop up saying I can't get it cause I'm in Canada instead of the states. So what do I do? I go and get the show off of a site that doesn't give me crap about my location.

Somewhere along the line corporations have lost site of the whole customer service part of bussiness. Now customer service is a side bussiness, they'll be happy to sell you an extended warrenty (as long as you don't try to actually use it). You are no longer a customer but a consumer who must purchase from them (who else will you go to? They the corporations have copyrighted/patented everything MUHAHAHA). So as a consumer you are a thief if you are not buying from them.

All that needs to be said is that Canadians in general like to share stuff with others.
for instance the Health Care System allows Canadians to share their tax dollars with other Canadians so they can have free access to health care.
So why not do the same for everything else, like Movies, Music and Beer....
Makes perfect sense to me.
