Phil Spector gets 19 years
p2pnet news view | Crime:- Would it be 77, 78 or 87?
That was the question posed last week at the end of the sensational, drawnout Hollywood style trial of Big Music producer Phil Spector, found guilty of killing actress Lana Clarkson, who was 40 at the time of her death.
Now, the question, would Spector be 77, 78 or 87 by the time he got out of jail, has been answered.
He’ll be 88 before there’s a possibility of his release.
He was sentenced to 19 years to life in six years after Clarkson was found shot in the head at Spector’s Californian mansion in February, 2003.
“Spector showed no emotion at the verdict but his wife Rachelle – 40 years his junior – sobbed,” says The Mirror, going on:
“Spector had claimed Lana ‘kissed the gun’ before firing it herself.
“But the prosecution insisted the reclusive star – who invented the wall of sound production technique – shot Clarkson after she resisted his sexual advances.”
Spector was also ordered to pay about $26,000, “for Clarkson’s funeral expenses and the cost of counseling provided to her mother and sister,” says the Los Angeles Times.

It would appear that the music industry is by-and-large run by a bunch of pathological criminals.
Phil Spector was no doubt one of the all-time biggest names in the music business. Another mega-successful industry mogul was Lou Pearlman, who last year was sentenced to even more time in prison — 25 years. (But at least Pearlman was not known to have murdered any of the teenage boys who rejected his sexual advances.)
I’d like to know why the record industry has served as a magnet for some of the most immoral, contemptible people to ever walk the planet
