Political Facebook spam
p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- “Dana became a fan of Dana L. Miller on Facebook and suggested you become a fan too,” says a an email from social advertising site Fa$ebook, signed by, “The Facebook Team”.
So who’s Dana L. Miller?
And why would I want to become a fan of his / hers?
I’ve never had one of these missives before, so I went for a look.
It turned out Dana L. Miller is a she — a Liberal politician running in Delta-Richmond East in Vancouver, BC, and who’s touting herself on Fa$ebook.
Personally, Green is my colour and the only reason I could think of that I’d end up on her spam list is because I, too, live in British Columbia — on Vancouver Island, in fact, which is between one and two hours by ferry from mainland BC.
In other words, it’s nowhere near Delta-Richmond East.
Also, how did she compile her list? And how many other people are on it?
