Steve Jobs was ’starving to death’

p2pnet news view | Off Topic:- Apple boss Steve Jobs said he’d be back from sick leave this month, and it seems he will be.

“Mr. Jobs, a survivor of pancreatic cancer, went on medical leave in January. He had earlier exhibited significant weight loss, and cited a nutritional problem related to a hormone imbalance,” to the Wall Street Journal.  “The unexpected departure, and the few details about Mr. Jobs’s ailment, left some investors worried about whether he would return.”

But now, “The big question now among Apple’s business partners, investors and fans: Will Mr. Jobs make his reappearance at Apple’s annual software developers’ conference next week in San Francisco, possibly to unveil a new iPhone?” – it asks.

Actually, a bigger question might be – Will his famed reality distortion field be fully operational?

And while we wait to find out, certain Apple directors, “have gotten weekly updates about his medical condition from the CEO’s physician, according to a person familiar with the matter,” says the story, adding:

“Mr. Jobs’s recovery ‘is coming along’ and he is on schedule to return to work later this month, said this person, who has seen Mr. Jobs in recent weeks.

” ‘He was one real sick guy,” added this person. ‘Fundamentally he was starving to death over a nine-month period. He couldn’t digest protein. [But] he took corrective action’.”

Did they took off his pancreas?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Sounds like somebody needs to sprinkle some pancreatic enzymes into their applesauce. :D

From “The Ultimate History of Video Games” by Steven L. Kent:

…at the time [Steve] Jobs [was hired by Atari he] was little more than a skinny kid… according to [Al] Alcorn, Jobs once came to work with a jar of cranberry juice and told his supervisor he was fasting. “He said, ‘If I pass out, just lay me on the workbench. Don’t call the police, please. I’ll be fine. I’m just a little weak right now.’”

…in 1975, Jobs decided to make a pilgramage to India… [w]hen he returned several months later, Alcorn hired him back. “…Apparently, he had hepatitis or something and had to get out of India before he died.”
