Meet Buffalo Bill Gates
p2pnet news view | Off Topic:- Microsoft Main Man Bill Gates has apparently bought Buffalo Bill Cody’s old ranch in Wyoming.
William Frederick ‘Buffalo Bill’ Cody (February 26, 1846 – January 10, 1917), “was an American soldier, bison hunter and showman,” says the Wikipedia, going on he was, “”one of the most colorful figures of the American Old West”.
William ‘Just call me Bill’ Henry Gates III (October 28, 1955, and still going …) is still one of the most colourful figures of the Pacific North West — as well as being among the richest (and, hence, most powerful) men in the world.
In June, 2006, he left his job at Microsoft to work full-time work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and now he’s, “believed to acquired the ranch, Ima Lake Lodge,” says ValleyWag, going on:
“The brokerage listing has been pulled from both the original website and Google’s cache.”
Located in Park County, Wyoming, “Irma Lake is at the end of a seven mile private road off of Highway 89 at the base of Carter Mountain,” says Live Water properties, listing it at a paltry $8,900,000.
“The ranch lies adjacent to Shoshone National Forest and nearby Washakie Wilderness, which gives this property a backyard of over three million acres containing continuous wilderness and forest lands,” it says. “For all its seclusion and privacy, the property is conveniently located within 21 miles of the town of Cody, the eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park.”
Or, rather, it used to say that. The text above may be Gone from Google, but it’s still available courtesy of (appropriately) Microsoft’ s new Bing search engine.
The site – yer actual one – says, simply, ‘Sold,’ but still hosts scenic views.
It’s not so tough at the top.
