Microsoft’s new mouse
p2pnet.net News:- They call it Stark. Stark Mouse. Stark Optical Mouse. And they hope it’ll make you think Microsoft is really cool and groovy.
“The First Museum-Quality Mouse,” it was designed by Philippe Starck.
“Where his philosophy is complex, his design is minimalist. The Microsoft-Starck collaboration was born of a shared core belief – that products should not be created as ‘throw-away artifacts,’ but should be simple, efficient, and durable. And so the Optical Mouse by Starck was born.”
Oh. OK.
Prices start at $24.93 and go up. (.93?)
But a mouse is still a mouse by any other name.

Or just buy a no-name optical from <insert vendor here> for $6 or less and have the same thing. A cheap, plastic pointing device.

Ooooohh! Aaaahhh! Everyone waits with baited breath… I told the chef NOT to serve sushi canapes again! I HATE fish breath… Oh wait, that was a mouse! Oh, only another of a series of Microsoft hardware products that are either ahead or behind the power curve. I’ll admit, I LIKE the MS ergonomic keyboard…(I’m typing on it now), but just about every other MS piece of hardware has withered and died on the vine. They over-hype the stuff, then over-price it, then watch to see which sucker will take the bait. After all the flames are put out, and the usual competitor products come out for a third the price of the MS stuff, they drop prices and eventually the product. What else is new? Endless cycle of “New! Buy NOW!! Get in EARLY!…” then they can’t give it away. Ho HUM! Bored now!
