The Digital Media Mall
p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft’s Windows Media Player 10, final version, is now available, complete with what Bill and the Boyz describe as the first built-in Digital Media Mall.
If you’re a ‘consumer,’ you’ll be able to use WMP 10 to consume ‘product’ churned out by the Big Four music cartel from the various plastic music sites – including the one just launched by Microsoft – for a trifling $1 per track.
If you’re everyone else, you’ll continue to get your mp3s from the p2p networks, as you’ve been doing since Day One.
Microsoft is also promoting Creative Labs’ Zen Portable Media Centers, available as of today, and others from Samsung and iRiver, which will be available later this fall.
Microsoft says it’s "solidified" content sources with online offerings from MLB Advanced Media (MLB.com) and CinemaNow, as well as support from four digital TV tuner card manufacturers and software company SnapStream Media Inc.
