Apple / Sony music venture?
p2pnet.net News:- Sony chairman and group ceo Nobuyuki Idei wasn’t impressed by an ‘opportunity’ to get into bed with Apple, it would seem.
Apple’s Steve Jobs gave Idei a chance to join iTunes in an offer that would have allowed for joint operation of the service, says Japan’s Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun, quoted in a PC World story here.
Jobs and Idei met at the Sony Open golf tournament in Hawaii in January, says Nikkei Sangyo, quoting unnamed Sony sources.
"Jobs is reported to have wanted to bring the Sony brand into the service to maintain a competitive advantage over Microsoft," says the story, adding that Sony had declined to comment.
