Intel predicts sales slump
p2pnet.net News:- Chipzilla says it expects revenue for the three-month period ending September 30 to be between $8.3 billion and $8.6 billion rather than $8.6 billion to $9.2 billion, says the Washington Post here.
“The company over-promised and under-delivered for the third quarter,” analyst Gus Richard is quoted as saying by CBS.MarketWatch.
“We think that the incremental news from Intel is about as negative as it gets,” he said in a note to clients.
Earlier reports suggested Intel’s third-quarter sales target didn’t account for either the “recent skepticism that the computer sector may have a weaker-than-normal second half because of soft back-to-school sales” or the impact of, “a string of embarrassing product delays that have frustrated customers, many of which base their marketing and product development plans on Intel’s schedule”.
