Bell Canada dumps video store
p2pnet news view | P2P | Movies:- Bell Canada is royally screwing customers who use P2P applications, accusing them of causing huge online traffic jams, p2pnet posted a little more than a year ago, going on:
“It’s blocking their accounts but now, in an act of sheer, unmitigated gall, it’s also trying to get them to buy over-priced Bell movie downloads.”
But that was then.
Bell doesn’ t have customers. It has a virtually captive audience of people who just don’ t know any better and who keep coming back for even more punishment.
So it’s no big surprise to learn the rest of Canada has voted, giving the Bell Video Store a huge vote of No Confidence.
Now, without preamble, “Please note that on July 15, 2009, the Bell Video Store will be discontinued,” says the site (or what used to be the site), going on »»»
As a result, you will not be able to make any new purchases or rentals after June 15. We recommend you:
- Use any e-coupons for video downloads by June 15
- Make a backup copy of any purchased content from the Bell Video Store

No! Really! It’s on the Bell site, which adds:

And again… another DRM content site goes under, thereby screwing the people who were foolish enough to “purchase” stuff from it!

I guess this means that all the saved bandwidth -previously consumed by their video store- will negate any further need to throttle Bittorrent
