New Opera ‘gives users content control’
p2pnet news view P2P:- We started using Norway’s Opera years back when it first came out, and we stayed with it for quite a while. It was very cool.
And then along came ad-free Firefox (which is continuing to eat voraciously into Microsoft’s IE dominance).
Opera dropped adds four years ago, but ….
Now, with the news it allows users to share photos, music and files directly with one another, “without needing to go through outside services such as Facebook and Flickr,” as the Associated Press puts it, we’re taking it for another spin.
“Opera Software spokesman Tor Odland said Opera would like to see the application as a tool that gives users back the control of their content from social-networking sites, such as Facebook and photo-sharing site Flickr from Yahoo,” says AP.
Sounds good.
‘People who use outside services are subject to their rules, some of which restrict what they can post and may even require users to give up some of their ownership rights,” it says, adding:
“He said users can choose files from their computers to make available through the browser. The files can be made available to all Internet users through a Web link or be limited to friends with a password. Users can also create groups for sharing files.”
Stay tuned.

Firefox is overrated, Opera is way better and in my opinion (which no one cares about) is the best browser going.
But unfortunately many sites just don’t work right with Opera.
And as for Firefox eating into IE Market share… who cares, Firefox is really no more secure than IE now with it being so popular.
Opera and Safari are probably the most secure with their lower use.
