Green Dam Youth Escort hacked
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- China censors aren’t having a lot of luck with their Green Dam Youth Escort ‘filter’.
It’s supposed to be in all new PCS made or shipped by July 1 to supposedly filter pornography. But is that where it’ll begin and end? – wonder critics.
The man who designed Beijing’s emblematic ‘Bird’s Nest’ stadium, the centerpiece of the 2008 Olympics, “has called on Chinese netizens to boycott the Internet on July 1 in protest at official censorship,” says Radio Free Asia, going on:
“Blogger, designer, and social commentator Ai Weiwei called for a widespread boycott of the Internet on July 1, when the government has ordered that all new Chinese computers must include filtering software, allegedly to protect the country’s youth against pornographic content.
“Ai called on the 5,000 or more people who follow his blog to boycott the Internet from the early hours of July 1 to the early hours of July 2 …”
The developer was been acccused of piracy, said p2pnet, then flaws were discovered.
But, says Wikileaks, a solution is at hand. For Chinese surfers, that is. And, “the only requirement is that the user is enticed to look at a site hosting a copy of the exploit page,” it says, going on:
The technique used is a buffer-overflow using Microsoft’s “.net” encoding.
A ZIP file provides a web page and associated computer code, “that can be used to remotely take control of any computer system running the Green Dam software.”

Wars in the near future will also be fought on the internet. Governments will need massive legions of hackers and whole populations infested with botnets to provide the cyberpower.

WikiLeaks is overloaded by global interest
WikiLeaks is currently overloaded by readers. This is a regular difficulty that can only be resolved by deploying additional resources. If you support our mission, then show it in the way that is most needed. On average, each donation catalyzes the publication of around 150 mainstream press articles, exposing human rights abuses and corrupt government around the world. These exposures result in substantial reforms and have changed national election outcomes.
