Sasser author indicted
p2pnet.net News:- Sasser worm author Sven Jaschan has been indicted in Germany with computer espionage.
Sasser was written as a kind of anti-virus virus unleashed against the likes of Mydoom’ and Bagle, Jaschan said.
Instead, his creation caused havoc and cost millions of dollars in damages to computer systems around the world.
Jaschan was identified after Microsoft placed a $250,000 bounty on his head.
"Prosecutors did not indicate immediately whether J. would be tried as a minor," says an Expatica story here.
"According to Stern [a German magazine which interviewed Jaschan], he did not release Sasser until the day after he became legally adult. He turned 18 on 29 April."
